HOW IS THE TRAIL BEING FUNDED?
To date, the trail has been built using a combination of grants and both monetary and in kind donations of many individuals and organizations. On January 16th 2018, the Oxford City Council unanimously voted to add a levy to the May ballot. It is now in the voters' hands to decide the future of the trail funding. WHAT WILL MY TAX CONTRIBUTION BE?
The Butler County Auditor has estimated that a home with a value of $100K will pay $99/yr ($0.27 per day) and a $200K home will pay $199 per year ($0.54 a day). The tax will end in 10 years.
HOW WILL THE MONEY BE USED?
HOW CAN I TELL EXACTLY HOW MUCH I'LL BE ASSESSED?
The amount of tax you will owe is based off of the assessed value of your home. This is about 35% of the total value of your home. To look up the assessed value of your home, please visit the Butler County Auditor's page.
When you reach that page, click on the "PROPERTY SEARCH" tab on the left side of the screen.
Then just type in your name on the next screen and select your property. Again, on the left click on the "Proposed Levies for May 8th, 2018 Election".
This should then show you the current value being assessed and the estimated tax on your property should the Levy pass.
WHERE WILL THIS TAX BE ASSESSED? CITY, TOWNSHIP, BOTH?
The tax is for properties within city limits.
